Tom Larsen, namesake of the Tom Larsen Blues Band, cranks up
his slide guitar in the middle of the crowd at the Blue Bird Blues Festival
Sept. 18. Local blues standouts Bobby Rush, Dr. S.O. Feelgood, and The Jewels
worked the outdoor stage as well, and the Blue Rhythm Boys, Cephas and Wiggins,
Daryl Davis and Eddie Daye and Denise were indoors at the Hallam stage.
Spectators donated over $2,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina, the PGCC
organizers said.
